MIICE toolboxes
The MIICE toolbox is the main incarnation of the MIICE quality framework, which articulates the criteria by which we can measure progress in the quality of learning and teaching in general
The 2009 revision of the MIICE toolbox is available in full or basic formats and there is advice about how to use this revision
- Summary - a 2 page summary of the 13 quality indicators and 41 themes
- Full - the 13 quality indicators of the framework are articulated at level 5 (Very good) and include references to appropriate sub-capacities in Curriculum for Excellence and QIs in How good is our school? v3 (36 pages)
- Basic - the 13 quality indicators of the framework are articulated at level 5 (Very good) only (17/18 pages)
- MIICE advice - brief guidance on how to use the 2009 revision (2 pages)

The original 2001 version of the MIICE toolbox comes in several versions
- Summary - a short (2 page) summary of the 13 outcomes and 41 components
- Full - this is the full articulation of all 13 outcomes, at level 2 (fair) and level 4 (very good)
- Level 4 only - updated (2005) articulation of all 13 outcomes at level 4 (very good) only
- Auditor - this is the same as the reader version with the addition of active text frames into which you can record the evidence on which you will make judgements
All MIICE toolbox material is available in both AppleWorks/ClarisWorks (v5) and Word formats

David Walls developed a database approach using the MIICE toolbox to help with the work of evaluation of use of ICT for learning and teaching in Edinburgh schools in 2001/02. David later developed an Access database to allow anyone to record evidence for reviewing ICT using the MIICE approach
